Of blood and water

Im a firm believer that as humans, as the creatures with higher level of intellect, we are in control of our actions and thoughts.

We're the rational beings. We have dominion over other things on this planet. At least, that's what our Religion teacher drilled into our heads in high school. 😄

"Im only human." I consider that phrase a perfect excuse. It's applicable to every exisitng small mistakes/shortcomings ever done by our race.

Well, we are just humans. We do not know everything. We cannot know everything. We could all be immortal and spend eternity learning every tiny thing about every tiny thing on this planet and the universe it exists in, but we cannot know everything.

But what if... If a relative physically hurt you? What if the said relative was drunk and claims that "it" cannot control its actions? Is forgiveness an option? Is forgiveness due? Yes? No? Why?

Im a firm believer that as humans, as the creatures with higher level of intellect, we are in control of our actions and thoughts.

I've been completely drunk before. I know how it feels to be drunk. How limbs turn into jelly because of alcohol. How the world spins when alcohol takes over. How the stomach pushes what came in to where it came from instead of pushing it down to the proper exit. How control seems to be a thing for the sober only. How vivid memories turn to blurry episodes the next day.

However, choices are still available and as creatures with higher intellect, we choose to act on what we think the situation calls for. Like, which story to share. Which loo is the right one. Which food to order. Where to vomit. What to order. What music to dance to. Who to kiss. Who to go home with. Our actions when drunk doesnt turn to be as memorable as we thought it will be, but choices are made and things are done.

What if... If you've done something unforgivable to someone while you're drunk?  Do you think you should be forgiven because you were drunk and you're only human?

Im a firm believer that as humans, as the creatures with higher level of intellect, we are in control of our actions and thoughts. We choose to act on things regardless of how unclear things may be. Outside influences are considered, but are not to be blamed. We are, after all, humans. We creatures of higher intellect. We have dominion over other things on this planet. We are in control of our actions and thoughts.  We are humans, not only humans. A fact. Not an excuse.
